From the course description:
Teachers at UCPH face an increasingly more diverse group of students. This course offers a variety of critical perspectives and theories on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The course provides insights and pedagogical reflections. During the course participants will work with their own dilemmas and develop ideas and hands on tools for their own teaching. The course consists of discussions, exercises, case work, and research-based presentations.
The participants will be able to:
- Plan teaching that will accommodate a diverse group of students and help foster the students’ sense of belonging.
- Create a safe and respectful classroom that invites students to participate in various ways and create a multi-voiced classroom.
- Discuss and draw on research and key concepts from the field of diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education.
- Work with their own dilemmas, develop new teaching activities and adjust their own teaching practice.
